THE TUDORVILLE RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION
NEWSLETTER

Volume 1, Issue 1 ..........................................................................March 2002

We are a relatively new group formed in October 2001,

Set up to represent the people of Tudorville.

Some of our committee are:

Colin Gray, Chairman

Pauline Forsyth, Secretary

Alan Davies, Treasurer

Brian Higgins, Vice Chairman

Pam Morgan, Vice Secretary

Already we can claim some success stories, including getting the street sign to Chapel Road altered, (it had said Chapel Lane for some time), getting abandoned cars removed from Purland, and having warning lights put up for Sandra, the lollipop lady who stands outside the Arches.

We also have had someone from the highways Dept walk around Tudorville to inspect the state of pavements, and he agreed that many of these need improving.

OPEN MEETING
WEDNESDAY 20th March
7.30 PM AT THE TUDORVILLE YOUTH CENTRE

This is a chance for all the residents to come along and air their views about how things can be improved in the area.
These can range from housing to crime prevention, or what you would like to see in the way of social events, and even your ideas for the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

A local policeman will be at the meeting, as will a council representative for you to put any questions to.

Please do try to attend as this is for the benefit for all of Tudorville.

For one week starting Monday 8th April, there will be two skips for the use of Tudorville residents'. One is to be placed at the top of Woodedge, and the other by the garages at Purland. They will be constantly emptied so there is no need to put rubbish on the ground around the skips, as this will not be picked up by the council.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT FRIDGES OR FREEZERS IN THE SKIPS

If this is successful, we will be allowed another 2 later in the year.

Queen's Golden Jubilee Celebration

We at Tudorville are planning to hold our own celebrations for this event on 3rd June. We have applied to Ross Town Council for help with funds, but we also have to do some fundraising of our own, so if you have any ideas, or would like to help in any way, please let us know.

One of these events is a coffee morning to be held this Saturday from 10am to 12 noon at the Youth Centre. Please come along for a drink and chat.
There will also be a raffle.

One of the activities we are trying to get going is some kind of youth club for the younger children of Tudorville. This will incorporate the age range of 7 to 12 year olds, including a disco and games.
Don't forget to give us your views at the open meeting.

Forthcoming events

16th March - Coffee Morning
20th March - Open Meeting
5th April - Junior Disco,- Details to be finalised
8th April - Skips for one week
