YOUNG
PEOPLES HEALTH CLINIC
There
is a young peoples health clinic being held at Eastholme
Community Centre on Monday afternoons from 4pm until
6pm. Any young people with problems ranging from family
and relationships acne bullying or any other problems
that may occur are welcome to pop in. No appointment
is necessary and the service is free. The Eastholme
Community centre is opposite Belmont Tescos There
is also a young peoples advisor at the Advice Centre
on a Wednesday afternoon. Fran from Way 2 Go is usually
available at the centre from 3pm until 5pm. Any young
people who require further details can either pop
in or phone the centre on 01432 279116. All enquires
will be treated in the strictest confidence.
GARDENING
If you need any help with gardening contact
your local Advice Centre at the Oval. There are some
people who will be able to help with this. They have
in the past been doing work for the Princes Trust.
We also have a builder who has volunteered to help.
Due to insurance circumstances there may be restrictions
on some type of work to be undertaken, but the centre
will be able to advise on this.

surgeries at the centre on the first Monday of the
month, from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.

COMPUTER
COURSES
Computer courses aimed at parents are being
held at the new Learning Centre at the old Marlbrook
School. These are being held in the day starting at
12.30pm until 1.30pm.
The purpose of these is to give the parents a better
understanding of children's homework. It is hoped
that the youngsters will be able to help out with
these classes.
There are also classes being held at the new Learning
Centre at Marlbrook School on Wednesday evenings starting
on Tuesday February 6th these courses are free of

YOUR
CENTRE
Your Centre has contact with loads of organisations
that can help with the many problems that occur from
day to day.
Every other Monday we have a solicitor from Thorps
who will give half-an-hour free advice. For this service
ring or call in the centre to make an appointment.
The solicitor is there from 12.30pm until 2.00pm.
On every Thursday morning Citizens Advice are at the
Centre and are available from 10.00am until 1.00pm,
you can just drop in, but it is advisable to make
an appointment as this service is usually very busy.
These are just some of the organisations that are
able to help with the many problems that occur.
Help is also available on bullying at work, and school.
Bailiffs, what they can do, and cannot do. Drug and
Alcohol abuse.
Age Concern help for the senior citizens in the area.
Life-long learning. Healthy living.
One-parent families we can put in touch with organisations
that can help you. Also at the Centre is a stock of
baby milk, we will accept tokens, family credit or
just plain cash.
This is just some of the many services that are available.
There are other estates in the city that would like
a Centre like ours and it is down to the dedication
and hard work of the volunteers, that ours is so successful.
The Centre is open from 10.00am until 4.00pm Monday
