In the first five years after transfer Herefordshire Housing will spend £41 million on repairs and improvements. Herefordshire Housing will carry out the following work, where needed: Modernise kitchens in around 2500 homes Modernise bathrooms in around 2000 homes Install UPVs double glazed windows to around 1500 homes Replace external doors in around 4000 homes Install or upgrade heating in around 1500 homes Provide adaptations for those with special needs Modernise and improve non traditional houses |
Re-roof homes Repair fences and boundary walls Repair pathways and drives Improve the environmental aspects of estates generally, such as improving car parking and boundary fences Increase security to warden accommodation, such as door entry systems, door chains and spy holes, where appropriate Second Year After Transfer. Install UPVs double glazed windows to around 1,000 homes Install central heating in around 2,500 homes Replace external doors in around 4,000 homes In The Long Term Future Herefordshire Housing will not allow homes to deteriorate and will protect the investment in homes made in the early years after the transfer. Herefordshire Housing's business plan includes a programmes of planned maintenance. This means parts of tenants' homes such as bathroom fittings and kitchen units can be replaced before they reach the end of their life span.
