Tenants' Disability Group |
MINUTES
1.
Welcome and apologies.
There were Ten members of the group present at the meeting. Apologies were
given by, Mr & Mrs. Stevens, Eva Burton, Wendy Jones.
Teresa was back in the fold after her long illness and took the chair.
Welcome back Teresa.
The Group were very sad to hear of the death of Mr Stevens, all our thoughts
are with his wife at this time.
2. Minutes of last meeting. All the members had a copy of the minutes,
after reading them, all agreed that they were a true record of the last meeting,
and Teresa signed them.
3.Matters Arising. As there were no matters arising Teresa moved on
to the next item.
4. Treasurer's Report. As Elaine was away, she had left a short report
with Dave. The Group acct now stood at £782.86. The Cheque was to be put
in an account to earn better interest. £10 was raised at the meeting for
coffee/raffle. Dave took this to give to Elaine.
5. Any Other Business. The group were told that Eileen Houghton had resigned
from the committee and group, but would not write in and say so. Dave suggested
that this matter should be taken as read.
There were a number of telephone scams on the rounds at the moment, and All
should be aware of these. For any more information please ask Dave. Teresa
said that a number of people had not had any minutes of past meetings, Dave
said that yes this was so, he also said that he was unable to send out any minutes
simply because he did not have the names or addresses of most of the members.
Teresa said that she would ask Richard Hancock if there was some way to get
these.
There was a long discussion about sending out the minutes, some people thought
that if people wanted them they could write in and send a S.A.E and they would
then be sent them. A number of people said that it seemed pointless sending
out a lot of minutes only for them to be binned, as there was a fair cost involved.
It was agreed that Teresa would look into this.
Teresa also said that John was upset at the small number of people who had gone to the Country and Western nights, Dave pointed out that though he had tried on three evenings to get up a trip, for various reasons he could not do so. He (Dave) had thought that he had explained this to John who understood what had gone on. Jean said that she and Sue had gone to the C/W nights at the lads Club and they had both had a good time.
The Group was told that John was very ill and would not be able to carry on with the group for the time being, he would not be able to do the Christmas Raffle and would like someone else to take it on, there were no takers.
Nigel won an award for his Web Site, very well done.
Annie,
Stewart and Teresa were to bring the prizes for the Sept raffle.
Date of Next Meeting. The date of the next meeting was the 12th of September,
at 10.00 at the Bulmers Room.
There being no more business, the meeting was closed at 11:20 am.
