Minutes

1. Welcome and apologies.
There were eight members of the group present at the meeting. Apologies were given by, Margaret, Nancy and Joy.
Teresa welcomed all the members. She passed round a card, which thanked everyone for carrying on with the Group while she was away. She said that she hoped to be able to resume her duties in the future.

2. Minutes of last meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were read out, and it was agreed that they were a correct record, so Teresa signed them.

3. Matters arising from the Minutes. David told the Group that at the last Federation meeting, he had asked Mr Jaques if he was able to say that people who were Disabled would be given a fair crack of the whip, as this did not seem to be the case at the present time. Mr Jaques said that the take-over meant that Hereford Housing had taken on the cash problems of the old company. Therefore only jobs given top priority were being dealt with at the moment. Howard said that this was a poor answer.

Anne Reid asked why her slabs had still not been done, even though she had been told that they would. David was asked to write to Mr Jaques and get the questions re repairs at the homes of disabled people cleared up.

4. Publicity Drive. David had asked Howard to mock up a poster that the group might like to put up in various places. Although given very short notice Howard had done so, it was handed round the group, and a number of people made suggestions so as to get more info and correct info on to it. Howard took this away and will present it at the next meeting. When ready this poster could be put up in places where likely new members might see it, if each members took a few it would make it an easy job.

5. Trip Update. Dave gave the group a list of trips and dates, anyone who would like a list should contact Dave or any other member of the group.

6. A.G.M. This will be on the 12th June (which is a Thursday as normal) It will be held at The Canal Road Day Centre at 10:00.
Dave will put the notice in the Ross Gazette and Elaine will do the same for The Ad-Mag.

7. Forum. (any other business) Dave told the group that the afternoon trips on a Sunday were turning out to be a pain to sort out, as there was no transport to be had that suited our needs. However, Elaine told the group that a friend of hers (Sid ) was willing to take The Social Services min-bus test. Elaine explained that this needed to be done before a person could drive the Social Services mini-bus. He would then be able to use the min- bus to take the group out on occasional trips. The group agreed to a payment of £25 being made for this to go ahead. Dave to try and sort out a Sunday afternoon trip. Elaine told the group that the group account now stood at £643:97. The savings account at,£1,003:27. £8 was raised in the raffle and a donation of £3 was given to the Day Centre for use of tea/coffee. Teresa handed in £10 which was from the sale of Christmas cards.

Eva told the group that she was sorry that she had missed a number of meetings, these were because of a knee operation.

Dave told the group that there were a couple of courses that it would be useful for some of the group to go to, the group gave their permission to look at the possibility. He would then give more information to the group at the next meeting.

8. Date of Next Meeting. The date of the next meeting was the 8th of May in the conference room.

There being no more business, the meeting was closed at 11:30 am.
