1. Welcome and apologies:
Tony opened the meeting, thanked everyone for their attendance.
Apologies from Jean Bates, Nancy Evans, Mr. Halfpenny was not picked up - Eddie
will telephone him.
2. Minutes from the last A.G.M
They were accepted as a true record of proceedings.
3. Matters arising from the last meeting
Keys - Master key for Elm Grove. Eddie to sort out.
Lifts - Brierley Court and Southgate Court will be having a lift installed this
financial year. Tenders currently out.
Council Survey - Commissioned Sept 05 said there were too many schemes in Herefordshire
which has delayed our own reviews in which tenants will be fully involved.
Medical Aids & Adaptations - £150,000 allocated for these but there's
a lot of work to be done. The back-log should be done this financial year.
Footpaths - Innesfield still waiting for repairs to be done but the land is
owned by the Council. Eddie to pursue.
Ballinger Court - Windows opening "in" instead of "out",
problem now resolved. Lighting - now done.
Kitchen - at a later date but plans and estimates are being produced.
Penyard Gardens - Street lighting Council to deal with, suggested involve local
Councillor.
Innesfield - Project "Teddy Bear" well received, maybe more schemes
to get involved.
4. Guest Speaker:
Tony welcomed guest speaker - Phil Wilson (Council Emergency Planning
Manager) to the group.
Phil told members that he was based in Hereford and explained his and his departments'
role in the community. He gave an in depth and very informative
presentation.
Members asked if there was a report or information he could send them. Phil
said you can access everything via the website.
Mrs. Hutt asked if there was general public training to recognise potential
dangers. Phil replied that there was not but to keep your eyes and ears open.
He added that there was a 101 number soon for people to report any queries or
suspicious occurrences.
Tony thanked Phil for coming. Members found his talk very interesting.
5. Treasurers Report
To date we have £246.52p in our fund.

8. Report from Eddie Clark
Re Septembers SHTUG meeting
Ballinger Court - Tenders measuring up for new kitchen.
Lighting in Car Park a great lmprovement. Will review in 4 weeks and will report
back to Asset Manager. Shirley Baldwin agreed it was a lot better.
Grass Cutting - Eddie has spoken to Cyril Davies (Grounds Maintenance Manager),
due to staff shortages etc was unable to get round everyone. Eddie will invite
Cyril to November SHTUG meeting.
Brierley Court - Car Park post not replaced as yet. Eddie to chase up.
Dropped kerbs, Ian Streets from About Access will be EC going to all schemes
w/c 16th October to see if any adaptations need doing and to highlight any issues
we may have. We will also ask Ian to look into the need to mark any dropped
kerbs.
Lovell's - Tenants did have a few problems with their work, individual issues
have improved now. They will be moving on to Pentwyn Court next and a site meeting
will be held with tenants well in advance.
Tenants were told that Lovell's would move items for them but wouldn't.
Tony will speak to Tony Jones for contact No for Lovell's in case there are
any issues they wish to raise with them.
Asbestos - Herefordshire Housing has very strict rules and takes the mention
of asbestos very seriously. Communication is imperative to ensure everyone knows
what's going on. Tony added that it's a very difficult area. We have an Asbestos
Policy and our staff are fully trained.
Faulkner House - Fire alarm incident at Churchcroft. Gwen Hutt said that there
are a lot of new tenants and are not sure of the procedure.
Instructions
on what to do in the case of a fire will be issued to all flats and be part
of the Lettings Pack for new tenants.
Rear door not being locked at night. Eddie said tenants must ensure this is
being done and warden will issue a reminder.
Smallbrook Gardens - Warden cover - With the current review underway, it's difficult
to say when a new staff member will be employed. Herefordshire Housing will
support you as much as we can. Daily visits and monthly meetings.
Eddie asked the group if anyone was interested in attending an "Adaptations
group". A small body of tenants on a consultancy level, transport will
be provided. Mrs. Gower (Richard Weaver), Mr. Green (Innesfield) and Jean Fishpool
(Fowbridge Gardens), Mrs. Anscombe (Brierley Court), Mrs. Barnsfield (Smallbrook
Gardens) agreed to attend.
Disraeli Court Lunch Club - If anyone is interested in a "good meal"
for £1.85p, please contact Hilary Lewis at Disraeli Court on 01432352973.
Halloween - Posters are available if anyone is interested.
Fireworks - Eddie to contact the Police to find out what is / not acceptable.
Mrs. Anscombe said that the new kitchens are lovely but the windows won't open
without standing on a stool, using your walking stick or going outside. Eddie
to raise issue with Tony Jones.
Southgate Court - Mrs Cavanagh and Menai Roberts said they have still having
problems with the dryer. Eddie told them the programme was wrong and has been
re-programmed. He will check with Maggie to see if the problem is any better
and request engineer to call again.
Menai asked about looking at an operational lift. Eddie said as soon as Dot
is back to work he will organise it.
9. Tony's Question Time
Mrs. Hutt asked if there could be "guest room" facilities
at Churchcroft for friends / family to stay. Tony to find out.
Service Review is taking place and will be completed as soon as additional information
is received from Supporting People.
Jean thanked Tony for chairing the meeting and thanked everyone for voting her
back in as Chairperson.
Jean also added there will be a Christmas Market Saturday 18th November in aid
of McMillan Nurses and if anyone wishes to contribute anything they are more
than welcome.
Jean said it would be nice for tenants to join Disraeli Court tenants for their
Christmas dinner on Thursday 7th December. Tony said that Herefordshire Housing
would sponsor the meal and there's a room available at Legion Way if they wanted
it.
