1. Welcome and apologies
Jean opened the meeting and welcomed all members present.

Apologies: Crawford Powney, Sally Ann Smith, Greta Ashford, Doreen Gower and Eddie Clark.

2. Minutes from the last meeting
All members had received a copy of the minutes. They were accepted as a true record of the proceedings.

3. Matters arising from the last meeting
Innesfield: The matter concerning a motorised scooter has now been resolved.

Church Croft: The debris left by workmen has now been removed.
The fob lock needed on the back door has been looked at.
Brierly Court: Several trees need cutting back.

Fowbridge Gardens: The glass verandas still need the moss cleaned from them.

4. Guest speakers
Jim Russell and Sandy Rogers had come along to the meeting to talk to SHTUG about aids and adaptations. They have already talked to the Tenants Federation.
Members were told of the large backlog of work that needed to be carried out concerning aids and adaptations. They said, 'We as a company feel that this is not acceptable'. Over the last twelve months Herefordshire Housing has ploughed more money into clearing the backlog.
They have been working closely with Herefordshire Council to resolve how best to avoid a long waiting list in the future.
Herefordshire Council are also responsible for the funding of aids and adaptations.

Jim explained that a draft policy had been put together. He said that the group were welcome to take a copy and contact him with any feedback that they might have.

Jean thanked Jim and Sandy. She wished Herefordshire Housing a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the members.

5. Tenant liaison meeting
Smallbrook Gardens: They had a fair meeting.

6. Report from the federation
The federation didn't have meeting in December. At the November meeting they discussed the issues that we have discussed with Jim and Sandy today.
Wendy went back to Janet Cole with the promise of the breakdown of the service charge. We should get this soon.

7. Any other business
Fowbridge Gardens: Thank you to Herefordshire Housing for the work carried out on the " loft installations. Is it possible to put in a catwalk so tenants can store possessions in the lofts? After the work has been carried out it is not possible to see where the beams are as the insulation has covered them.

Brierley Court: The lights on the verandas are very dirty and need cleaning.

Penyard Gardens: The street lighting in several areas is not working properly. There is no street lighting between numbers 15 and 16. This area is very dark and dangerous at night.

Southgate Court: A tree needs cutting back.

The charity stall held at Ross-on-Wye Market House on Friday 1st December raised £97 for Macmillan nurses. There was also a donation of £20 from Ballinger Court. Jean thanked Innesfield for their donations.
Shirley thanked Jean, Margaret, Molly and Diane for their hard work and time in organising the event.

Jean told members that she had now moved out of sheltered housing, but is still covered by care-line. She asked members if they wanted her to step down as chair person. Members unanimously voted that Jean should carry on as chairperson as she is a very valuable member of the group.

8. Guest speaker for the next meeting
Members decided to invite someone from the 0 T department as guest speaker for the next meeting.

9. Date and venue for the next meeting
The next meeting will be held at Church Croft on Thursday 4th January 2007 at 10:30 am.
After the meeting members enjoyed a Christmas meal with the tenants and staff of Disraeli Court. All members and guests received a present from Father Christmas.
Jean wished everyone a happy Christmas and thanked Herefordshire Housing for providing such a wonderful meal. She also thanked the caterers and the waiting staff.
