WELCOME AND APOLOGIES
Jean opened the meeting and welcomed all members present. She also welcomed
a new member to the group a Mrs Barnfield from Grammar School Close.
Apologies were from: Diane Howls, Leslie Beeks, Mary Cartwright, Greta Ashford
and Crawford Powney.
2. MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING
All
members had received a copy of the minutes. They were accepted as a true record
of the proceedings.
3. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE LAST MEETING
Thank you for the work carried out on the doors at Birch Close.
The street lighting at Penyard Gardens is being looked into by the local
council.
Thank you very much, the paths have now been repaired.
There
are signs of activity regarding lighting in the car park at Ballinger
Court.
The paths at Fowbridge Gardens will be repaired as part of outside work to be
carried out on the scheme.
Eddie will be meeting with Health and Safety Officers regarding smoke alarms.
We will visit a few schemes
to verify the situation and will be issuing guidelines to all tenants.
The
new contractors for the taxi's were much better this month with
only a slight problem in the Ross area.
Thank you to Simon Herdsfield, Careline manager, who was guest speaker at the
last meeting. Simon responded
very quickly and constructively to complaints and the outcome was very pleasing.
4. GUEST SPEAKER
Jean welcomed Jim Russell as this months guest speaker.
Jim told the group that it had been a busy time for his team. "We have
been busy preparing for the review with Supporting People" They were pleased
that the service is running well and have renewed the contract.
The tenants Consultation Day held on Friday 24th February went very well. Tenants
were split into six groups in the morning to discuss customer care standards
.
In the afternoon tenants were split into four groups and discussed the Strategy
Planning Overview.
Herefordshire Housing has learnt from this meeting, and aims to use this information
to improve services for the future.
Jean said that those members who attended that day had found it very informative.
Members said that they had also learnt a lot from the day.
Members shared their concerns with both Jim and Eddie over the letting of sheltered
Housing. It was agreed that
SHTUG should invite Jamie Bums to a future meeting.
Again, the great need for lifts to be installed in some sheltered housing schemes
was mentioned to Jim.
Jim told the group that the improvement team were aware that money would needed
to be made available for
lifts on some schemes.
Jim thanked Jean and Jo for attending the Comprehensive Service Review meeting.
Jean thanked Jim for attending the meeting. She said members had found It to
be a very positive meeting.
5. TREASURERS REPORT
After
today's draw we now have £238:41p in the fund.
6. EDDIE
Eddie thanked the group for taking the time to meet with Supporting People.
He said the feed-back from the meeting was very positive.
7. TENANT LIAISON MEETING
Brierly Court: A thank you to Jim Russell for helping to solve the problems
with dogs,
A thank you to Eddie for getting the washing machine sorted.
Also thank
you to Eddie, the new taxi company has worked out well.
8.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Elm Grove: The electric meter is placed too high. We are unable to reach
it to reset the trip switch.
The door bell at one property is not working.
There is very bad condensation is some of the bedrooms. Action E C.
Ballinger Court: A tenant is having a new kitchen fitted. Are all flats having
new kitchens? Action EC.
9.
GUEST SPEAKER FOR THE NEXT MEETING
It was decided to invite Pam Haskell or Jamie Burns as guest speakers to
the next meeting.
10. DATE AND VENUE FOR THE NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held at the Ryefield Centre, Ross-On-Wye on Thursday
6th April 2006 at 10:30am.
After the meeting members and their guests will enjoy a fish lunch.
